Expulsion, Completion and/or Attendance from/of/at any
UPSE Sponsored Event Without Just Cause

Any UPSE member who does not attend in its entirety, is expelled from, or does not complete any event sponsored or supported in whole or in part by UPSE without just cause, shall be responsible for full reimbursement for any monies paid to or on behalf of a member and/or to his/her employer.  Such member shall not be entitled to further salary repayment or travel expenses for the course or event in question. In addition, acceptance to attend any further events sponsored or supported in whole or in part by UPSE shall be at the discretion of the Executive Officers.

Eligibility for PEI Union of Public Sector Employees Annual Convention Expenses

1.	For members to qualify for the following reimbursement, members must attend the 
entire convention proceedings:
(a)	wage repayment
(b)	rooms
(c)	mileage
(d)	meals
(e)	child care
(f)	or any other reimbursement the union may offer
2.	Extenuating circumstances for a member's non-attendance may be considered by the 	Executive.

Eligible Hotel Room/Travel Expenses

1.	The policy for voting delegates to in-province conventions – UPSE Annual Convention and the PEI Federation of Labour is as follows:
a)	Voting Delegates whose permanent residence is 40 kilometers (25 miles) or more from Convention site:
Entitled to hotel accommodations paid for by the Union in addition to one return trip to and from Convention site to permanent residence, or
b)	Voting Delegates whose permanent residence is less than 40 kilometers (25 miles) from Convention site:
Entitled to claim up to a maximum of three (3) return trips to and from Convention site to permanent residence.
Travel expenses for a) or b) above will be based on rates in effect at the time of Convention.
2.	Accommodation expenses will be paid for the President for any convention he or she attends on behalf of the Union regardless of the distance from the President’s home.
3.	The policy for members approved to attend UPSE educational and UPSE approved conferences, with a minimal length of two (2) days duration, shall be entitled to the same guidelines for voting delegates in this policy (1)(a) and (b).

4.	A committee chairperson and Stewards Council co-chair(s) shall be eligible for paid accommodations when hosting an approved UPSE event that is two (2) days or more in duration providing there is a evening union educational related function.

Disclaimer: By signing below, I acknowledge I have read and thoroughly understand that as a voting Delegate for UPSE convention, I agree to comply with the deadlines and policies of the union, specifically Policy A-2017-35-2, Policy A-2017-35-3, and Policy A-2017-50-5 (as above). For greater clarity: 1) Any charges other than the overnight room will be the responsibility of the Delegate. 2) Any cancellation of rooms within 72 hours, the room cost will be the responsibility of the member. 3) Members who indicate they are attending the dinner and do not attend will be charged the cost of the meal.
