Mike Butler, former UPSE President, called for nominations from the floor at Convention for UPSE’s Executive positions of First and Third Vice President. Candidates nominated before the Convention are Carolyn Knox, First Vice President, and Jim Ryan, Third Vice President. On the second call for nominations from the floor, Khitam Taha (Chief Steward, Local 3) was nominated for the position of First-Vice President. Mike Butler issued the final call for nominations from the floor. No further nominations were made, therefore, Jim Ryan, Third Vice President was elected by acclamation. An executive election was then carried out with Carolyn Knox (First Vice President) running against Khitam Taha (Chief Steward, Local 3). Both candidates delivered passionate speeches to the delegates. The membership voted and Carolyn Knox was elected First Vice President of UPSE.
