Today is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3, 2024).
This day reminds us of the need for inclusivity, accessibility, and equal rights for everyone in our communities and workplaces. As a union, we recognize that addressing the unique challenges faced by persons with disabilities is essential to building a fair and equitable society.
UPSE is committed to advocating for policies that ensure proper accommodations and eliminate barriers that hinder participation. This year’s theme highlights the importance of empowerment and support, encouraging us to listen to the voices of those with disabilities and actively involve them in decision-making processes.
Let’s move toward a future free of barriers, where every person with a disability is treated with dignity and respect and has the opportunity to thrive.
