UPSE asked Health PEI to extend the LPN Mentorship Program pilot project, which was part of an agreement signed on February 24, 2025, during the last round of bargaining.
On March 17, 2026, Health PEI told us they would not extend the pilot. They said this issue must be dealt with at the bargaining table, not through a temporary extension.
This is disappointing. Similar agreements for other unions have been extended, and the decision not to extend UPSE’s agreement appears arbitrary and unfair. UPSE has asked Health PEI to reconsider this decision and is waiting for a response.
