UPSE Health PEI Members: Ratification Information Update

Posted December 6, 2024, 3:36pm

I want to provide you with an update as I know the office and staff have received numerous inquiries about the status of the Health tentative agreement.

As most of you are aware, CUPW is currently in the process of advocating for a fair and reasonable deal with Canada Post, so UPSE has developed a contingency plan and alternate way for members to receive their ratification kits and vote. UPSE had to alter its past practice of mailing out ballots and will conduct an electronic ratification vote.

In order to be able to receive the ratification information and voting information, members must have completed their UPSE Membership Card/Registration with UPSE and have a valid email address at the Union Office. If you have not registered, please go to our membership registration section here on the UPSE website to register https://www.peiupse.ca/membership-registration/

If you already are registered with UPSE, please ensure that your UPSE member contact information is up-to-date as well (home mailing address, contact number, email address and worksite). To do so, please fill out your UPSE contact information form here https://www.peiupse.ca/members/update/ and submit it electronically. If you have any questions reach out to us at the UPSE office at (902) 892-5335 or email peiupse@peiupse.ca

UPSE plans to send complete ratification information to the members no later than Friday, December 13, 2024. Further communication will be provided in your ratification kits about virtual and in-person information sessions to allow members to seek clarification on the tentative agreement and vote if they choose to do so at these meetings (you will also be able to vote online from your residence, or anywhere you choose).

Again, I encourage you to update your contact and email information if applicable, ensure you have a UPSE Membership Card/are registered, review your ratification kit information once you receive it, attend the information sessions to make an informed decision about the terms and conditions (your collective agreement), and vote to ensure your voice is heard.

I sincerely want to take the opportunity to thank the Health bargaining team for all their work.

Sincerely,

Karen Jackson,

UPSE President
