UPSE Health PEI Members:
I want to update you as I know many of you have contacted the office and are wondering about the status of the Health bargaining. As communicated on Monday, November 25, 2024, UPSE has reached a tentative deal with Health PEI.
We are in the process of compiling all the relevant information and amendments into a complete document. This document will highlight all the changes to the language and monetary items in the collective agreement.
This document is being put together by our legal service provider, Pink Larkin, and will be sent to the Employer to ensure all information is accurate and reflective of the discussions at the bargaining table.
Once the Parties have reviewed and approved the document, UPSE will compile the Ratification Packages to be sent to the membership.
As you know, CUPW is advocating for a fair and reasonable deal with Canada Post, so UPSE will explore an alternate way for members to receive their ratification kits. UPSE is optimistic that more information will be available this Monday on the status of the postal strike. The office has a contingency plan if the ratification kits cannot be mailed as per past practice.
UPSE will hold information sessions, in person and virtually, on the details of the tentative agreement to ensure all members can make an informed decision. UPSE will provide dates for these meetings next week. I encourage all members to participate in these information sessions and to review your ratification kits closely (once available) to make an informed decision.
I want to take the opportunity to thank the UPSE Health bargaining team for all their work as this certainly was a challenging table given the movement in Health PEI.
Sincerely
Karen Jackson (UPSE President)
