UPSE President Addresses Long-Term Care at Standing Committee

UPSE President, Karen Jackson, delivered a brief today to the Standing Committee on Health and Social Development on the state of long-term care in the province. The PEI Nurses Union and CUPE also made presentations.

Jackson spoke about her members working conditions in long-term care and made recommendations to the committee in regard to necessary improvements. Key recommendations include addressing the chronic staff shortage with improved compensation, recruitment and retention, more long-term care funding, and supporting the implementation of national standards in long-term care.
