The Health Standards Organization (HSO) has now released Canada’s new national Long-Term Care Services standard.
The standard was developed over a 23-month process and informed by the clinical and technical expertise and lived experience of a 32-member Technical Committee, including the input and feedback from over 18,800 Canadians, and the best available evidence.
“The biggest challenge for many long-term care homes right now is retaining and recruiting staff, especially when hospitals are also facing significant staffing shortages and pay much higher wage rates,” said Dr. Sinha. (CBC)
