UPSE is pleased to see the provincial government reverse its planned 25% cut and extend full funding for Pedagogical Support staff until March 2027. A special thank you to our UPSE members working in the early learning sector, including those at the Morell Early Learning Centre and Holland College Early Learning Centre, who shared their experiences and helped highlight the impact these cuts would have had on educators, children, and families.
We also want to recognize the Early Childhood Development Association of P.E.I. for their leadership and advocacy throughout this process. This is what happens when the early learning sector, workers, families, and communities speak up and stand together.
UPSE will continue to advocate for stable, long-term funding and strong investment in early learning.
